BAPTIST CHURCH

THE FOCUS OF OUR MINISTRY

The motto of the renowned 19th Century Baptist minister Charles Haddon Spurgeon at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, depicts Moses lifting up the serpent. "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."(John 3:14-15).

This motto captured the constant theme of Charles H. Spurgeon's preaching-- Christ and him crucified. On March 25, 1861, in the first sermon delivered in the newly constructed Metropolitan Tabernacle, Spurgeon stated, "I would propose that the subject of the ministry of this house, as long as this platform shall stand, shall be the person of Jesus Christ."

By God's grace, we at Heritage also seek to preach Christ and him crucified as our constant theme. We welcome you to visit or contact us if you are interested in finding out more about the ministry at Heritage.
